new rules for teachers!

quoted from: http://edge.ascd.org/_New-Rules-for-Teachers-11-20/blog/6560482/127586.html

"new rules for teachers (11-20)
11. technology is not the magic secret to academic success; put a bunch of ipads in the
classroom, watch the teacher spend of his time managing the ipads rather than teach the
      class.
12. all teachers must have unit plans; this includes teachers of autism students, severe and
profound, incarcerated students or the physically disabled.
13. all students must be assessed; this includes students who are visually impaired,
hearing impaired, cognitively delayed, or those with autism.
14. students should read the unit plan just as college students read the syllabus; kids need
to know where the instruction is headed and what the assessments will be.
15. if you treat kids as if they are in prison they will act like inmates.
16. parents must know the grade level their kids are at, in reading, writing and math,
forget grades! teacher grades are generally meaningless; cruel, harsh truth is the best
      medicine.
17. students must be taught to monitor their progress in a class, in relation to the common
core standards, not just the teachers' grade book.
18. the whole point of the assessment is to determine the extent of student learning, not to
      trick them into being wrong!
19. when a teacher or other staff member stands by the time clock everyday, just waiting for
the moment when they can punch out and go home, they are yelling out loud their
      commitment to the children.
20. differentiation does not mean dumbed down!"

4th new concept "roller suction effect" (roller skating)

the "roller suction effect" is the 4th new concept introduced, as intended & written (2/7/13)
(r.s.e. - conceptual approach, through cross industry knowledge)

applicability: spoke roller skates - spokes circumferentially disposed like fan blades.
                     the above mentioned example has been chosen, for it is intuitive;
for other spoke roller types, aerodynamic - in the spin :) - testing advised.

advice beforehand: when skating on this type - always avoid too dusty or too wet tracks.

for this type of rollers, only heavy duty bearings would be a good option.
please check this out with your bearings' supplier.

lower the bridge Dooley! :)

if you are a parent of a cool teen, and his evolution may seem out of order to
you, our advice is:
lower the bridge Dooley! :)
as absurd as it may seem, but for us, you don't  "have" enough "paths" to his
heart & mind...

it treats its children." (Nelson Mandela)
